I deleted a bunch of templates i created for a news section so i could start again from scratch.
However, after creating a new template if i look in :
Document Types : News Item (i created this) : Info tab
i see that my allowed templates include all the ones i've deleted, so i have 4 all saying "news item"
How do i make them die and stay dead ?

Did you try to delete them in the templates part of the settings section ?
