I added yesterday some pages to my site. Everything were good, I saved and published them. I worked all day long to get this ready.
Today I open my project and the changes I made are not saved, even worse when I add a page that was previously added (with same name because I need them with the same name) it seems to be ok at first but then eventually it throws an error saying that :
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The other big problem I found is that new changes I made are not being saved. I change one of the old pages (not the new ones I added yesterday) and completed it, made some improvements and saved it and then puslished it. I get to see it perfectly good in the browser. Then I changed from my actual site (in web matrix) to another old one and then back to my site. When it opens it does not show me what I saved before.
I decided to keep going, being extremely careful, and even saving my html code somewhere else (just meanwhile SOMEONE helps me).
But look at this!! I run my site and this is how it looks:
If you look at the URL I am at one page with a long name. And if you check the "menú" there is another web page with long name "Sistemas de Control de Cajas, Mesas y Máquinas" (the last time I saved everything I forgot to change the properties of that page for hiding it in navigation ).
BUT, when I login into my admin site, this is what I get:
If you see this, there is no "soluciones-de-control-de-operaciones-de-casinos-y-salas-de-máquinas.aspx" web page, and there is no "sistema-de-control-de-cajas,-mesas-y-máquinas.aspx" althought i can navigate into that page.
I don´t want to keep working like this because it's lost work and I think I will get the same error that I showed you before if I add the pages again.
I have seen something like this where the problem was that there was not enough diskspace/memory for the database. It could also be related to permissions - what you see when browsing the website is read from disk (App_Data/Umbraco.config) - what you see in Umbraco are the contents of the database. Somehow when you publish in Umbraco, the app can not save the data to the disk... if you add a new page called "xyz", does it stay in Umbraco or does that not work either?
Ok, so from what you're saying it seems like my pages are saved into the disk but not in the database? Because I can still see them in the browser, and the real problem is one of them is still in the main menu and I can't see it on Umbraco to hide it =(
What can I do to solve this? I think maybe the problem is the long names of the pages? Maybe it is not correct to leave spaces in the name or something like that?
Yes, I added more pages to Umbraco (with short names) and I can see them in the browser, and it seems to be save in Umbraco too. At least they are display in the Content tree. But I don´t know how to make sure if everything is being saved correctly, because the last time I thought everything was fine but suddenly some pages dissapeared from my Content tree in Umbraco's admin page.
This is how it look my tree now (I added SRV-Telefonica y SRV-CASINOS)
How can I know everything is good? Do I need to log off, close the web matrix, open it again and check? That is enough? Is any other easier way to check if everything is correctly saved?
I forgot to mention that I republished entire site and the web page with long name disappeared from my principal menu. That way, If I can make sure it is being saved correctly, I can keep working, otherwise I'll be in a lot of risk to lose everything I'm working on.
One more thing. When I try to open the database of my website (from WebMatrix) and try to open the ContentXML table it throws an error and closes WebMatrix. I tried to do this because I wanted to "add" some missing register, so I could get to see my web page, with long name, in the Contect tree of my Umbraco's admin site. Obviously I couldn't add it because it keeps kicking me out of WebMatrix every single time I try to open that table.
It happened again, I added some pages to my umbraco website, I edited them, tested them and saw them on the browser. I logged off from the umbraco admin site and I closed webmatrix. Then I opened again the site, and althought I can see my changes in the browser, the pages are not in the Content tree of my umbraco admin site.
How can I fix this? I can see that the database is corrupted or something like that. How can I change it to be pointing to other database? How can I reuse some of the info that is correctly saved and hasn't been corrupted yet?
I guess the best solution is to migrate to a local database in my PC, let's say in SQL Server, and to backup and restore it in my web server when I want to display the site and make it available from internet.
How can I do this? How can I create a database with the correct umbraco structure? I mean, with the basic tables that it need to work properly.

It's difficult to know what has happened - but you nedd to try this so we know where the problem is (or isn't):
