I'm trying to preview a page, but when I do I get server error: "Current node is null". It's telling me I can't preview unpublished material. This is baffling - what's the point of a preview button if I have to publish content first?
Yep, I'm saving, then previewing ... and that error gets thrown. I need to publish it first. It seems totally backwards - I need to preview a page before I publish it to make sure it's all shipshape. If I have to publish it first, what's the point of a preview button?

Normally you don't need to publish the content, only saving will the content is needed for previewing

Can you post the code of the template and macro's of the page you are trying to preview ?
