    Insert special character in tinymce3

    I have a small issue regarding the special characters in tinymce3:  (umbraco 4.0.2.1)

    When using the [omega]-icon you get a nice popuplayer with all special characters: when inserting a special symbol like e with ' ontop of it: één

    This results in a small questionmarked symbol... how do I resolve that?

    Hmm, in umbracosettings.config, try changing the following to utf8, also you should set the content-type meta value in your templates

    <!-- the encoding type for tidy. Default is UTF8, options are ASCII, Raw, Latin1, UTF8, ISO2022, MacroMan-->
    <TidyCharEncoding>UTF8</TidyCharEncoding>

    Like

     <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" />

    The TidyCharEncoding had the value RAW.

    I wonder where that came from, but anyway... UTF8 solves the problem indeed. Thanx a lot

    Nico: Did you upgrade your solution from an older release to 4.0.2.1? And if so did you then do it manually? Maybe that could be the explanation? However it's good that it's working :)

    Yes I did.  I started on that site with the beta of umbraco and then to 4.0.0, 4.0.1 etc... some dragon of the past I guess :-)
