    Slow CMS interface

    Hello,

    i have a problem with the interface by using Umbraco 4.0.2.1.
    The interface acts really slowly.

    On some document types I have used a lot of properties. Also a few content pickers and an Ulitmate picker.
    The document types with more properties are more slow.

    Will this make my Umbraco interface slow? And how do i solve this problem?

    Hi,

    What do you consider a "lot" of properties?

    I think I have some doc-types with 6 tabs and probably 5 items on each tab and they respond pretty quickly. Obviously the larger they are, the more you are having to download when you open the content nodes.

    I would suggest you do the following:

    • Have a look using something like Firebug to see how much data is being downloaded and how long the different files are taking.
    • Ensure you have caching enabled on your server and that files are correctly being cached

    Also if you are currently using a remote server, have you tried the same on a local installation and do you find you still have the same speed issues, it might be related to your hosting or bandwidth.
