Replacing an image that's referenced from many RTE's
Let's say I've uploaded an image in to the media section and I have a bunch of pages on my site that reference that same image as chosen in their respective rich text editors.
If I later decide to change that image then do I have to go through all (potentially hundreds) of articles that reference that image or can I somehow tell Umbraco to point to a new image? There doesn't seem to be a replace option that I can see.
I realise I could overwrite the file in the webserver but I need a solution that an editor can do in the backoffice.
Hi, I tried this and it allowed the images to be updated in Umbraco, but not on the live site. To make the new image show up on the live site, I had to go through and publish each page where the image was referenced. Is there a different way to do this?
Jennifer - not tried this yet, but I know you can publish the entire site by clicking on "content" and then click the 3 dots beside "content" then click "do something else" then "Republish entire site"
I was hoping there was a way to not have to publish the entire site because we have some pages that are in the process of being modified. I'm fairly new to Umbraco -- is it possible to tell where images are used on the site so I don't have to look through the whole site or publish the whole site?

Hi IanS
Hmm, if I remember correctly overwriting the uploaded image in the media section should do the trick? Have you tried this?

Thanks Jan, of course, you just need to browse for a different file. That worked! Not sure how I missed that
Hi IanS
Happy to help - If it worked please mark the topic as solved :)
