There are a few nasty nodes in our recycle bin that won't delete. As such, the empty recycle bnin command fails. I'm pretty sure the node content itself is gone from the database but the nodes still show in the recycle bin node tree. Can someone please tell me where in the database Umbraco 6.1.x getting its directory listing of recycle bin nodes? If I could find them there, I could perform a manual deletion.
Seems to be a known issue with 6.1 http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-2165 - Perhaps try some of the SQL statements provided in the comments for the issue? But make sure to make a backup of the database before doing so in case something does not turn out as expected.

Hi Robert

There seems to be more information here too http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-2571
Hope this helps.
