Can you post a screendump of the login screen you're seeing? Then it should be possible to tell whether it's 6 or 7 at least. Just wondering if you have tried to see if you can login using another browser? If you can then you should try clearing the cache in the browser you normally use and see if it starts to work again.
If this does not help any then it would be nice to know if by Umbraco expert you mean the developer or if it's an editor who knew the ins and outs of your Umbraco installation.
I've tried IE11 and the latest version of FF. Both with a cleared cache.
The story behind the site is that it was developed by a third party company, that I believed outsourced it to yet another comany. It was delivered to us and there was a small handover on how to edit the content, But not on how to develop the site. We had a so-called expert that was a project manager that knew how to do some stuff, but was not a coder. He's left.
I need to make a minor change, but I cannot login!
Cannot Login, get "Start Here" or "Locked" screen
Hi, our umbraco "expert" has left and I cannot login to our site.
I get either;
- Sometimes I see an empty content panel
- Sometimes I see an empty content panel then quickly followed by the login screen
- Sometimes I get a "Start Here" screen (HTML title = "dashboard")
- Sometimes I get an Umbraco Locked screen
I have no idea what to do or how to get in. I'm a bit stuck really.
I dont think this is Umbraco v7, I think its v6
