Hands on tutorial for programatically adding sections and subsections to umbraco backend?

I've found this somewhat dated blogpost about adding subsections programmatically ( http://www.simm.dk/umbraco-corner/articles/making-custom-sections-and-trees-inside-umbraco---part-ii.aspx ) but am looking for up to date documentation about this, can anyone help me out?

I want to add a section "beheer" (dit this already in the database), and then have a tree structure below it, one for each control that we'd be loading into this section...
