I have an Umbraco site running under version 4. The media folder has a few hundred items.
A file was uploaded and a link was given i.e.
http://somesite.com/files/file.doc.
I've searched the media folder but no file.doc is showing/found. How could i find the file in question to kill that link?
Let me know if i am wrong. But Umbraco's media file system has a structure like "http://somesite.com/media/media path id / file.doc".
J, How was the file uploaded? In the backend in content section with a content item that has upload folder?
Regards
Ismail
Thats the correct structure but no file is there??
I cant be 100% sure how it was uploaded but my guess would be through the media upload folder.
The URL is http://www.site.com/media/123456/file.doc
J, Ok if it has media in the url then its been uploaded through the media section. When you look in media section can you see it? It may be that the file has been created but not actually uploaded or something went wrong during the upload.
Thanks Ismail. The way i resolved it was by navigating to the directory on our server. Strangely i thought i had to go through the media files....
