    Why can't a user have multiple roles / usergroup / type ?

I have a lot of editors for one site (about 12), and two of then also need access to a subsribtion section, and three of them should have access to a newsletter section in the backend.

I'd like to be able to have three usergroups:

    - editor
    - subscribtionmanager
    - Newsletter manager

and be able to assign multiple groups (or types) to a user...

similar problem: If one of the editors is also a translator, how would you do this?

are there any extensions for the permissions system that i don't know about, or roadmaps where this is included?

    Kind regards,

    Rik

I'm afraid that's currently not possible unless you specify a new type for each of these specific users.

For example; have a 'editor with access to subscription section' and assign user to that type. Not an ideal solution, but that would work (number of user types will grow exponentially tho)

Other solution is to create extra users, but then people will have to remember multiple user accounts.

I'm not aware of any changes to the permission system in future releases.

    Cheers,

    /Dirk
