    How do I create a menu that fills from the centre?

    We are relatively new to umbraco and are working on our 5 installation. I have been searching high and low for information about creating a menu in Umbraco which is centred and fills from the centre.  I have found information about menus starting from the left or from the right, though nothing about menus starting from the centre. Is this not possible in Umbraco perhaps?

    We are using umbraco v 4.0.3 (Assembly version: 1.0.3625.27276).

    The menu, which was designed to have home in the centre and then each first level menu mode fill from the centre and out. Something like this:

    Option 5 Option 3 Option 1 Home Option 2 Option 4 Option 6

    This way you could technically only have a home link and two sublinks, wihout the main navigation looking strange.

    Currently, we have simple created the menu in a normal left to right fashion: Home Option 1 Option 2 Option 3, etc

    The secondary menu is the same as the top level navigation, so would require a similar solution if there is one.

    Has anyone else encountered this? Do we have to redesign the menu?

    Any pointers much appreciated!

    Iselin

    Hi Iselin,

    I would use a menu from lift to right and just center it.

    Anyway you can use a aproach like:

    <xsl:foreach select="node[position() mod 2 = 1]">
    <xsl:sort .../>
    [print item]
    </xsl:foreach>
    [print home]
    <xsl:foreach select="node[position() mod 2 = 0]">
    <xsl:sort .../>
    [print item]
    </xsl:foreach>
