What is the best practice for PDFs in an Umbraco site? Must PDFs be uploaded into the media library? Is there a way to upload them while creating content or must the PDFs be preloaded? Would it make sense to create a wrapper content node and embed the PDF or is it best to just link directly to the PDF in the media library?
Normally I use an Upload field in the content Itemto upload a pdf, which can be directly accessed from XSLT. Think that is better for a user since they don't have to upload the pdf first in Media and later create a content Item that uses the pdf
You would have to either upload the PDF into the media section first and then link to it from within the rich text editor or create a poperty you your node, in which you can upload your PDF directly.
But then you can't place the file in a specific context in the text.

Is there a way to add an upload control to the rich text editor rather than or in addition to the insert image picker?
Hi Connie
I don't think there is.
You would have to either upload the PDF into the media section first and then link to it from within the rich text editor or create a poperty you your node, in which you can upload your PDF directly.
But then you can't place the file in a specific context in the text.
