Animated gif is shown as jpg on the site

    Hi,

Is there a known issue with animated gif files that are added via the TinyMCE rich text editor. Somehow an animated gif show as a static picture in the frontend.

    Kind regards,

    Bas

If the image is resized in the RTE (richtext editor) it will be saved as a jpg. If you don't resize it you should see the original .gif with its animation.

That's my best guess at the moment, anyway.

Let us know what you find out.

    cheers,
    doug.

I think that Doug has a good point here.

Otherwise you could try to upload the gif-file, as a "file" media-type instead of an "image" media-type in the media library.

Did you solve your problem Bas?

Could be interesting to hear if some of the above worked for you.

    Douglas, Kim,

I added the gif file via the Media section and used the gif in the RTE and it work as expected.

    Thanks for the solution!

    Kind regards,

    Bas
