Don't think there's a topic for small improvements / feature request so I'll start one :).
If you click on the sort button it can take a while to sort all the nodes so perhaps it's a good idea to show a loading icon while sorting. Currently it sometimes looks like it's not doing anything.
Another small improvement might be, when choosing sort by custom field you right now just can enter the alias of the property.. but it might be more useful to list the properties/possible options in a second dropdown, e.g. if the subnodes are Employee nodes they might have a property called employeeName. Usually the editors don't have access the settings sections, so they can't just look up which alias of the properties are avaiable to sort by..
Of course you can as web developer document all the defined property aliases or the ones that usually are sorted by, but the other approach is still easier for editors to use..

Instead of editors have to enter a field name, it would be better to list the available custom fields in a dropdown.. :)
