Are there any plans to create a version of this package for Umbraco 7?
or maybe submit a pull request to the core? http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-7141
Maybe it does not need to have its own context menu, but could extend the existing sort dialog view and controller?

Actually it's not needed for Umbraco 7. Clicking the solumns in sort dialog does a good job sorting documents by name, creation date and sort order.
Yes, I know.. But it doesn't have the option to sort nodes by a custom property, like Autosort package had: https://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/auto-sort/general/23481-Small-improvements
E. g. a custom property for news or event date..
I guessed you knew. I discovered built-in sort feature after i read this post. I just wanted to quide newbie Umbraco 7 users who search "autosort for Umbraco 7" as i did. I would be fine if autosort would be compatible with Umbraco 7.
