Newsletter Studio performance issue with sending newsletters and tracking clicks

We have an issue with Newsletter Studio in Umbraco 10 regarding performance. The situation is like this:

    • Number of subscribers is about 14.000

    • Newsletter campaign (newsletter template contains macros) takes about 2 hours

    • Every time a person clicks on a link in the newsletter Newsletter Studio is called to track the click which takes about 5 seconds.

    • The server we use has 32Gb of memory and 16 CPU cores. We don't see an issue in monitoring with these resources.

@Markus, if you can respond: do you have any clue what might be the issue here?

We have a similar website running which also has about 15.000 subscribers and there the sending of the newsletter takes about 10 minutes. Also when I click on an article in that newsletter it takes about 63ms to track the click in Newsletter studio. But that website and plugin is running in Umbraco 7.

    Hi Cees!

As you also reached out via email I'll help you via email and share any conclusions here for others if there is something that might be good for others to know.

    Talk to you soon!

    Hi!

Just an update here as well as this thread and the other one (https://our.umbraco.com/packages/backoffice-extensions/newsletter-studio-the-email-studio/comments/112201-newsletter-studio-campaign-overview-runs-into-a-timeout) was caused by the same problem.

Fix is now included in the latest releases for all supported versions:

    https://www.newsletterstudio.org/installation/

    Cheers!
