Links in RTE not being populated when sending a campaign

    Hey

I'm experiencing an issue with links inside the RTE not being populated when sending a campaign.

On Umbraco version 13.5.2 and using Newsletter Studio 13.0.11.

If I create a new campaign and add 2 links

Link 1 is picking a node

Link 2 manually typed out the URL in the link field

    enter image description here

Both links work when using the preview functionality, however if I actually send the campaign link 1 is set to below

    <a href="#m_160116185082653239_" title="Investors"

    Thanks

    Hi!

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the links, this not something that I've seen before.

I tried to reproduce the problem on a fresh install of Umbraco 13.5.2 with Newsletter Studio 13.0.11 and this works.

I'll share my steps for reference

Select the text to link and choose "Insert link"

    enter image description here

Pick a content item from the tree

    enter image description here

Send the email and check the URL

    enter image description here

Obviously something is not working in your project so let's try to see if we can figure out what it happening.

The #m_xxxxxxx pattern is not something that I've seen before, there is a difference between preview-rendering and the rendering that is performed when sending in that we'll replace all links with "tracking links", that is links that look like this https://www.yoursite.com/__ns/link/?id=xxxxx

These are used to track the clicks.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. Have you done anything special with the setup? Any custom render tasks or similar extensions?

    2. Are you using the standard RTE? The link picker dialog from your screenshot looks quite different from the one in my screenshot - did you just scroll? Or would you mind sharing a couple of more screenshots of each step that you take to insert the link?

    3. How are you sending the emails?

    4. Wondering, could it be some kind of "privacy feature" or software that removes the links because they think they looks strange? (just guessing here). Could you try with the "SMTP Pickup" option to rule out any infrastructure-stuff for the sending part.

    5. What email client are you testing with? Did you try any alternative client?
