We've recently noticed a problem with users trying to unsubcribe to newsletters, we've had emails from users saying they've tried multiple times to unsubscribe.
I've tested the issue, sending emails to a couple of addresses I have. My webmail, hotmail, unsubscribes me without any issues, but the email I use for work which I access through Outlook 2007 doesn't seem to do it, when I click unsubscribe the link goes to the unsubscribe page with a query string, but doesn't display anything.
These are on sent out newsletters. I've just checked and we're using version 1.2 of Newsletter Studio, were there any fixes for these types of issues made in 1.3?
We've had these issues on both unsubscribe links added manually to newsletters and "forced unsubscribe" links.
Okey - it's the same underlaying algoritm that add the links so it dosen't matter.
I'm not 100% sure but I think that it could have been some changes, try to install Newsletter Studio 1.3.1 in a clean enviroment and see if it works better. Another problem could be some security software that "strips" the content?
I've just tried 1.3.1 on a new environment, it's still giving us the same issue, hotmail unsubscribes perfectly, our corporate email through Outlook returns a blank page and doesn't unsubscribe the user.
I've tried to unsubscribe in both Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 and it works well - which is strange. I guess that this issue is releated to something with your security settings. Is there any problem when clicking a "regular" link inside the message?
Can you try with an Outlook that's not behind your corprate security policy?
I now think the problem is our smtp server, we've currently using Elastic Email, but for testing I changed that to my own personal hotmail account and tried another newsletter. This fixed the problem and the unsubscribe link worked.
Now to try and discover what the problem with Elastic Email is....
I thinkt that the link may contain some base64 encoded strings which should work but it seams that some web filters and so on don't like this. We'll probably look at another soltion in the future but as for now this should work. Please let me know if you find anything with your mailservers or if you have any feedback for the package.

Is there anything we could be doing wrong?
Hi!
Hmm, could this be some kind of but maybe? Do you know if your page throws any errors?
No errors, just a blank screen.
If I right click and copy the links from the web email client and outlook, they render slightly differently.

Outlook seems to escape certain characters.
Hi!
When I test this in Outlook 2007 (12.0.6665.5003) SP3 it works, as well as on Outlook 2010.
Are you sending out an accual campaign or using the "preview" button?
