I've run into a bit of a problem after installing Newsletter Studio 1.4.4.2 on an Umbraco 4.7.2 - it was supposed to replace the 1.2 installation that was already there, so I uninstalled the existing version. That broke things, trees in the backoffice were empty and the front-end broke too with a server error.
I found a subject here about pretty much the same thing which prompted me to install the new version anyway which solved the front-end and the empty trees in the backoffice. Or, almost - Newsletter Studio itself only has the top node ([newsletterstudio]), and re-reading nodes does nothing.
There is a lot of stuff that you need to manually change if you are doing that upgrade. Please use the guide at support.newsletterstudio.org and if you need more assistant I'll be willing to consult you in this issue - send me an email: markus [at sign goes here] enkelmedia.se.
Thanks, that actually helped me on my way. Luckily I had a working installation on another site to compare with. Database looked the same, but the config file was missing from the /config folder - and two lines in the web.config file was missing (configSection refference, and config reference).
