could you please explain in a few words on what criteria the "opened by the receiver" stats depend. I recognized, that the amount of opened Emails are quite low and wondered on whether only emails where images are downloaded get counted.

An opening of an email is triggered in two ways,
Either when the tracking pixel (aka image) in the email is loaded or if a link is clicked and the image has not been loaded before.
