As part of our case study we are looking for an alternative tool for Sitecore,
We have used Sitecore Experience editor to customize/configure the
pages and viewing the response preview there itself. Whether this
feature is available in Umbraco?
Currently we have 250-300 multisites which runs under a tree, does umbraco supports these many sites under the single instance?
We have a parent site in which multi-tenants are running under the single instance. Does umbraco support multitenants with single
instance?
We are creating sites programmatically using custom wizards, will thise be achievable in umbraco?
Sitecore has a branch template feature where we have customized page templates and renderings configured in a tree structure. We use
wizards to create the new site from the branch template everytime.
Whether umbraco supports this feature?
We used to have customized workflows to perform some commands/actions. Whether Umbraco supports this?
How SSO feature is achievable in umbraco?
User Management/ Is it possible to create custom properties to store
additional user information (ex: firstname, lastname)
Will Umbraco handles custom roles and role permissions?
Restricting the user to perform actions specific to the role and
based on the custom domain? (ex: Only roles with admin can able to
make changes in the specific module)
Different types of rendering a template is available in Sitecore
like Item rendering, controller rendering, view rendering. Is there
any specific concepts available in Umbraco to render multiple views?
We have multi-tenants and sites running under single instance of
sitecore. When we are programmatically creating a site, will the
entire Umbraco instance restart?
What kind of encryption we have in Umbraco, especially PII data?
Note: Please share any case studies with the above scenarios
Its hard to answer every question here without more specfic detail, but it sounds like this would be an amazing project.
I would say umbraco could do everything on this list, but there are probably 100 diffrent ways you could architect it.
Possibly you should invistigate Umbraco Cloud.
However it sounds like you will need to do a lot of automation with it comes to building and deploying.
The topics you have listed are very wide, best advice I would give you is make sure you have a good team of Umbraco Experts and plan out the architecture in detail before you get started.
