Was toying around with this in 6.0.5 and it does appear to sort just times out and cancels publishing.  Would love to see it updated for v6 support, also.

For my last Umbraco 6 project, I used a plugin called AutoSort. It said it was only working for Umbraco 4, but it worked fine for my project.

Yes, I have it installed, but it's not necessarily auto sort as the name suggests since you still have to manually activate it.  I like what this offers by setting some rules that handle it for you automatically.  I looked briefly at the Atlantic BT Node Sorter which looks similar, but the rules didn't offer the flexibility I'm looking for.

Hi, we have released a beta version which supports v6.1.2+ We would love for you to give it a try and let us know if you have any issues.

Although this beta version is built against Umbraco v6.1.0 (and seems to work with this version) it doesn't work with v6.1.1 hence the requirement for v6.1.2 where it works again!

Hi Martin, please make sure you download the latest version v2.0.2 beta as the earlier ones had some problems but it is only compatible with Umbraco v6.1.3 or above.

The source is currently on this Codeplex fork but we are planning to move to GitHub very soon.
