Just a quick one really. We are using uSiteBuilder for a live site, I think it's great and appreciate your work on it! The only thing that I'm curious about is the start up speed after say a compile or app pool recycle.
Our site is fairly small really but in a development enviroment it takes 2 minutes to spin up, this is a bit of a nightmare if I'm just making some code tweaks, is there anyway I can speed this up, or is there a way of speed this up? I know that in this call http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/usitebuilder/usitebuilder-support/21611-How-can-I-speed-up-the-first-request-after-a-deployment it has been mentioned that you might add the ability to turn this off in a dev enviroment, is that been completed yet, or is there a simple change I can make myself to the source code to do this?
Ah, just read all the comments and realised it will not be there until version 1.3, but is there anything I can do to improve the start up time? There are only about 15 document types, 20 odd templates so we're not talking a huge enterprise application, 2 minutes is such a long time to wait after each compile :(
Due to the holidays and very busy schedule on our commercial projects, we had to postpone release of version 1.3 of uSiteBuilder. We are close to finishing with all the features we promised to deliver in version 1.3 and I expect that we'll have the new version released in next few weeks.
I understand that initial load time can be frustrating and I'm sorry about this delay.
Ok, great stuff I can hold out! I think that the product is great and would use it on any future Umbraco projects as soon as this is resolved, that said kudos to all you guys working on it, brilliant stuff.
Sasa, is this something you guys have already started working on? If not I am happy to take a look as I am getting quite stuck into the project now.
I think the sooner we can get this migrated to Mercurial the better as it wil allowing forking of the project for people to contribute things like this.
Thanks for the offer but we already implemented that feature. It is not in codeplex yet but I'll ask my colleagues to add it to codeplex soon (needs just some more internal testing).
