    umbraco 7 template cannot be found error

    Hi all,

    I have created a umbraco 7 MVC site with uSitebuilder 2.  I have a primary.cshtml layout page and a homepage which references the primary.

    However, I keep recieving the following error:

    "

    Template 'HomePage' is using 'Primary' as a parent template (defined in MasterPageFile in HomePage.master) but 'Primary' template cannot be found

    "

    Any ideas?

    You may need to create the templates in the Settings area of Umbraco aswell, so that they are registered in the database.

    The problem was solved when I removed the associated view with the parent template. In my case it was my StartPage.cshtml.
