I have an existing Umbraco site we are currently building. I want to use some of the features of the BWSP but fear installing it might clobber some of my existing data, types, etc.
1. Can I selectively install portions of the pack?
2. Or am I safe installing into an existing site and just deleting the portions I don't need?
A good question - selective installs (or breaking out functionality) would be a good thing for the future. For so you can check that nothing will be overwritten, the package will install the following document type aliases (and almost identical template names)
Meta Textpage Event EventCalendar NewsArea NewsItem Homepage
Hope this helps - you should be able to install it and take out what you don't need, but do back everything up first.
Thanks Dan. From examing the package, it appears that no other database changes are made, only those to support addition of the doc types, etc. Would this be true?

Hi Connie

Template and macro alias conflicts are something else to watch out for, but the main thing that can cause serious problems are the doctypes, yep.
Let me know how you get on!
