Change local cache to a remote cache

    Hej,

I wonder if we can change the location of the cache. I know that the cache is a folder created in the server local drives. Could I rather create this cache in a remote server like Azure Blob Storage ?

There is similar thread : https://our.umbraco.com/packages/website-utilities/imagegen/imagegen-how-to/44154-ImageGen-store-Cached-Folder-in-Azure-BlobStorage But it dates from 2013.

Have there been any changes since then ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Mohamed,

You can do Remote Blob Storage both in v7 & v8. Below link shows the steps to achieve it directly from HQ.

    https://our.umbraco.com/documentation/Extending/FileSystemProviders/Azure-Blob-Storage/

We have done it number of times on Azure Blob Storage and it works nicely.

May I take the opportunity to wish you id mubarak!

    Thanks a lot !

I see that some settings are done for ImageProcessor. But I am working with ImageGen, how do I make it work with ImageGen ?

Image Gen v2.9.3 has been enhanced to have flexibility to add server name to remote cached folder name. Can you upgrade to this version?

Documentation has been updated and includes section for RESIZING IMAGES FROM REMOTE WEBSITES.

    So, this will surely help.
