Mediaprotect doesn't work in Umbraco 6.1

Is there a planned update for Umbraco 6.1? Probably as a result to the media section changes in later versions of Umbraco.

    Hi James,

What isn't working in 6.1. I've tested and it did protect media.

    Thanks,

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for getting back to me, I've installed the package but when I right click on the media node from the tree, the "public access" option isn't present. Also I don't see it when I right click from the right side menu.

This is version 1.1.8 on Umbraco 6.1.0. I'm in a dev enviroment (localhost / IIS Express). Any suggestions? I've tried uninstalling/re-installing the package already.

    James

    Hi James,

Just set-up an environment similar as yours. After logging out and logging in again in the back-office after install all works. Don't know if you tried logging out and in again? This needs to be done to refresh the cache. What also could be an issue is that the ClientDependency cache could not be refreshed during install. Can you open the file Config/ClientDependency.config and update the version attribute to version + 1?

    Hope this helps,

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

I definitely tried the login/logout on install. I just tried your suggestion of updating the ClientDependency cache version +1 and it didn't have any affect. I've also tried deleting the cache manually from the TEMP directory but again, no affect.

I've double checked to make sure all the files are in their respective directories and everything looks to be where it should be. Are there any other steps I can perform to manually install the package/add the "public access" option to the right click menu?

Thanks for your help with this,

    James

    Hi James,

That is really weird. The manual installation process can be found in the documentation http://soetemansoftware.nl/media-protect/downloads. I assume this is a test site? I would love to check what's going on. If it's possible, could you send the complete site to [email protected]? Then I can run the site in debug mode.

    Thanks,

    Richard
