Is it possible to somehow embed the form within an existing node and template?
It would be cool if it were possible to embed the contact form into an existing node, using the macro and a content picker, or even setting up a content picker document property against the existing node, rather than creating a new node.
Is that possible? I'm a bit green on Umbraco and couldn't work out how!
P.S. If the first option (create one form and use the content picker on the macro), it would also be cool if it were possible to alter the emailTo type properties using other currentPage node options?
P.P.S I guess I should explain - I'm using a single Umbraco install to power multiple sites (using the hostnames feature against nodes) and would therefore need to send emails to different addresses based on the node the form was included in.
I hope that's clearer now - Christmas brain drain here!
I think that is a great idea that I hadn't thought of before. If I can come up with a good way to implement it and still allow for both ways I will add it to the project.
As for now, does it work to just copy and paste the Pliable Form Document Type multiple times, add whatever tabs and properties that you need to each, and then recreate the form on multiple sites? That would probably be your best solution for now if it works.
Thanks for getting back to me - apologies for the delayed response in return, Christmas has been a bit manic!
I'm looking to use the contact form together with the Blog4Umbraco pages, which are pretty tough to work with, so I don't think I can copy/paste all of the existing doc types very easily.
If the solution is good enough quality, I'm happy to pay for it - does that help?! :-)
I hope it's not too late for you but I've added an optional macro parameter of a Form Node content picker. This will allow you to create your form in a different location and use it in any template or content block because the macro can be used in the editor itself.
I just did it tonight and didn't get to fully test it yet but I've created a package for you to download if you want to try it. Just pick the PliableForm1.0(4.0)beta.zip file.
Unfortunately I had to switch to using the RVContactForm in the end to deliver the project on time. Definitely agree this is a good change for your package either way though!
