SEO Checker creates new redirect everytime a page is published

    Hi Richard,

This might be a duplicate of #99669, but since it had a marked solution I wasn't sure that you get notifications.

I'm experiencing similar issues with version 2.9.0 and Umbraco 8.1.3.

Every time I publish a page it creates a new redirect with similar URL's. enter image description here

Is it possible to create a hotfix that could clean up these duplicate redirects and make sure that it doesn't create new duplicate redirects in the future? :-)

    Hi Simon,

could it be some configuration about trailing "/"?

The page is at https://www.besttravel.dk/rejser/israel but https://www.besttravel.dk/rejser/israel/ redirects to the first.

    hth, Søren

    Hi Simon,

A redirect will only be created when the old and new url are different. It should check without Trailing slash etc. Do you have any special url providers maybe?

    Best,

    Richard

    Hi Richard

No, SEO Checker and Umbraco takes care of all our redirects and urls. But maybe it's because "Track url history" is enabled and Umbraco creates a redirect whenever the page changes? :-)

    --Update

Disabling "Track url history" fixes the issue and Umbraco still creates the redirect from the old page to the new one. Only thing is of course that I can't see the history on the node, but I think we can live without it :-)
