Getting 404 error after import redirects

    Hi Richard,

Recently I had used the import redirects to update some of the Urls with new ones. The redirect imports worked perfectly and I am able to see the list of the urls I have added in the Redirect Manager.

But when I click on any of the urls imported , its going to general 404 error page.

e.g.: I have updated the http://www.sample.com/2012/20 to http://www.sample.com . Whenever I click this url its going to old url i.e. http://www.sample.com/2012/20 instead of http://www.sample.com

Could you please help me in resolving this issue?

    Thanks,

    Nikita

    Hi Nikita,

Could it be that the 404 was already logged? Please delete it from the inbound link errors first. Then it should pick up the normal redirect.

    Best,

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

I tried deleting it from the inbound link errors and again trying to view the page, but it still redirects to the 404 error.

Is there anything that I am missing to do so?

    Thanks,

    Nikita

Ah I see the old page also still exists? If so specify redirect when page exists in SEOChecker settings.

    Hope this helps,

    Richard
