Those urls that timed out could have caused a timout because they don't accept SEOChecker as a valid useragent. What you can do in case of url's that are valid is to add these issues to the ignore list thenm you don't see them again.
I have a site that also shows this for most, if not all, external urls. I can, however, access external sites from the server. Did you ever get to the bottom of it Ben?
OK thanks. We thought perhaps there was something in the hosting config preventing the site from calling back to itself but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Coincidentally, the site you posted above was a site I developed many years ago (an earlier version of it) through DotAgency - small world! Good to see they stayed with the Umbraco platform.
SEO Checker - External URLs saying time out or broken when OK
Pages are returning that some external URLs are even timing out or broken but when I click on them, they're fine. Version is 1.10.2

Hope this helps,

Thanks Richard, would that be the same for the link to our site to www.bracedigital.com too? Just that that link isn't broken and completely fine...?
Do you have a firewall which is blocking external site access on your server?

I didn't sorry Simon :(

Hi Simon,
What host are you using? Make sure that they have enabled http connections form the httpclient on the server so webrequests can be made,
Best,
Richard
It's a server on Rackspace.
Any pointers on this? I'm guessing its a firewall rule but as best I can tell any related rules should be allowing traffic through.
Most clients who had this was due to firewall rules indeed
is working on a reply...
