I have an Umbraco website with different nodes which has it's own page. There are times when I update the Name field of a node and related URL changes and redirects are handled automagically by Umbraco itself.
Let's say, I have an node whose Name is - About Me and has default url as /about-me. Now, when I change node's Name from About Me to About, the url of the node changes to /about. And, any request to /about-me will be automagically redirect to /about by Umbraco itself.
Last week, I installed SEO Checker and all the auto-redirection handles by Umbraco no longer works. Any request to /about-me shows an error page.
Is there any settings in SEO Checker where I can fix this behavior? So that any Name updates in a node will not result in page not found error.
as soon as you install seo checker, umbraco redirect feature gets disabled... and most probably because seo checker doesn't know yet about the redirection yet (installed after redirect was captured by umbraco), it will result in error page (or not found if you've configured that)
you can still manually add a redirect for seo checker though, so add both the old and new url and it should be fine.
This will be addressed in V2 wich will be released soon. I've removed my own changed logic since that caused performance issues on high traffic sites. The 404 gets logged so you can always create a redirect form the inbound link issues overview.
Umbraco's URL redirect not working
Hello,

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Richard - please can you confirm that the current SEO checker version (2.2.3) doesn't disable the umbraco redirect feature?
thanks Fiona
Hi Fiona,
Umbraco disables that functionality when SEOChecker is installed but SEOChecker also takes care of redirects. Also for url changes
