Completely useless on production without a license

I've been using this package for my client's new website thinking I'd use it for basic meta title, keywords, description etc. and then it would be in place if they decided to get more serious with SEO and buy the license.

Now that I've put the site on the live server I've discovered that the whole datatype is useless without a license. It just gets replaced with 'The trial license only works on localhost!'.

This is not what I was expecting. I expected to be able to use these SEO fileds but not have access to any of the more advanced features.

I'll probably have to take it out now rather than leaving it in as a possible sale generator.

    Regards,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Sorry about this but the tool is a commercial product not freemium. I don't think there is anything that advertises features are available for free online. The only platform where it should run in trial mode is localhost. That said I always try to be nice and can assume you have a lot of work changing the datatypes back so send me an email [email protected] with the clients domain name and I give you a free license (for others reading this, it's a one time offer ;-))

    Hope this solves your pain.

    Best,

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

I'm sure I can persuade the client to buy the license in this case.
I do think you'd sell more licenses though if developers could access the basic fields without one but end users could see there was a wealth of extra features available if they wanted to upgrade.
Especially as the best practices Hybrid framework by Jeroen Breuer includes your package and I plan to use that as a base for all my future sites.

    Cheers, Matt
