Is TeaCommerce going to be compatible with Umbraco 8 and is there a timeline for when it might be available or do I have to purchase Vendr?
If TeaCommerce is not going to be compatible with Umbraco 8, do I have to purchase a new $1,500 license or will there be an "upgrade" solution available?
Also, will it be possible to migrate products from TeaCommerce to Vendr or do I have to start all over?
Tea Commerce will be v7 only, with Vendr being our v8+ offering moving forward.
As Vendr has been re-developed from the ground up with many improvements over it's TC counterpart there isn't really a migration path between the two and so should be seen as distinct products just with a similar ethos and concepts. We will of course continue to support TC for as long as it is in high demand, which it still is, with developers still purchasing licenses, however no new features will be developed for it.
Regarding "upgrade" pricing, our current statement on this is as follows:
We are allowing a 50% discount for a Vendr licence to customers who have purchased a Tea Commerce licence in the 12 months prior to Vendr launching. Vendr launched 30/03/20, so the discount is for licences purchased between 30/03/19-30/03/20. This discount is only valid until 30/03/21.
