I just watched the Tea Commerce 'developer tour' video on the website and noticed the link between the tax rates and countries.
Seems this would be pretty useful to calculate VAT depending on whether the purcahser was in an EU country or not.
Does it work by looking at the shipping address?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt,
The VAT group is reflected by either the order's country, which has a VAT group associated. You can specify a VAT group on a specific product as well, if that product must have a different VAT group than the rest of the order.
With the Tea Commerce .NET API you can manipulate the VAT, to make even more special cases. This could be EU country or not. I have written a blogpost about how to do just that: http://rune.gronkjaer.dk/en-US/2011/04/12/tea-commerce-dynamic-vat/
We use dynamic VAT in our soon to be released webshop on http://www.teacommerce.dk/
Hope this answers your questions. Otherwise your'e welcome to ask again :)

Thanks Rune,
That is the answer I was looking for and your blog post is exactly the sort of thing I would be looking to do.
