I've just updated a reference installation of the Tea Commerce Starter kit to the most recent version. and get this error when accessing the site:
Server Error in '/' Application. Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'Tea.UmbracoRedirect.Redirect'. Thanks for your replies. It is all working now thanks. Filezilla had not uploaded all the files, but had not reported any files failing either, but some files were missing (including Tea.Umbraco.Redirect.dll). Unfortunately I missed this when I made the above post!
Rune:
There was nothing to lose, I already had an Umbraco installation into which I had previously loaded an earlier version of the Tea Commerce Starter Kit (which was an Umbraco package). The site had been left unchanged as a reference. Rather than create a new installation I decided to reuse the old one. I stopped the site in IIS, dropped all the tables from the DB and could then skip steps 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 & 11 in the install guide. Hence the update of a non-updateable product.
Thanks for your responses, and sorry it was a false alarm.
Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this sorry if this isn't the best place. We have an existing site in Umbraco and would like to add an e-commerce site. I would like to start with the starter kit as it has all the elements we need. However, it's a complete site and we don't need to create a new database and full site.
Is there any way I can bring the starter kit store elements into our existing site? This would be a lot faster and better than creating the products doc types, views, macros, etc, etc.
No problem - you can just start a new topic if needed :)
The Tea Commerce Starter Kit is a standalone website with umbraco + Tea Commerce + all the stuff for a running webshop. Its not possible to just install the parts of the starter kit untop of a running umbraco website. What you can do is to install the starter kit as a new website and then copy the needed parts from one of the websites to the other. You can do both way - depends which one you find most easy to copy. Hope it helps.
I've only used Tea Commerce in two sites, but with those two have tried Ander's suggestion in both directions. I think, out of the two approaches, starting with my own site and copying in chunks from the starter kit as needed worked best and helped me understand TeaCommerce better too.
Problem updating Tea Commerce Starter Kit
I've just updated a reference installation of the Tea Commerce Starter kit to the most recent version. and get this error when accessing the site:
Any ideas what I've got wrong?
Hi Matthew
Which version of the starter kit do you have installed? Is there a Tea.Umbraco.Redirect.dll in your bin folder?
Kind regards
Anders
Hi Matthew,
None of our Starter Kit's have ever been updateable. Tea Commerce itself can be updated easily by installing the newest package on top of the old.
Out new Starter Kit v2 can not be installed in any case, as it's not an Umbraco package, but a full zipped website.
I hope your site haven't been ruined in the attempt.
/Rune

Thanks Rune, silly error in the end!
