    How to set default currency

    Hi,

I have an installation which just needs GBP prices.  I've installed the latest blank TeaCommerce package and used the Starter Kit on a different installation to cherry-pick from in order to build my system (which is highly customised).  Everything is fine except I can't seem to get the prices to show up in GBP - they're in Danish Krone.  I've removed everything relating to Danish currency in the internationalization section of the back-office, and I've added GBP equivalents.  The only thing I'm not able to delete is the Danish country node (in 'Internationalization > Countries'.

Anyway, I've read the blog post about currencies but it only says it's possible to change the currency via Javascript or .NET and doesn't actually say how to set a default currency.

Can anyone suggest how best to do this (preferably server-side so it can't be tampered with)?

    Thanks

    Hi Dan,

You must update the countries, and set GBP as the standard currency on all of them.

Ah, after a bit of playing around I've just ended up renaming the Danish one to UK, and re-assigning the fields on that option, which seems to have done the job.  The confusion was that I set up a UK country but couldn't delete the Danish one.  I'm assuming this is because the system needs at least one country so it doesn't let you delete that one (which in the default installation is Denmark).  You can however re-name it, which is what was required.

    Thanks

    Hi Dan

Its correct you cant delete the default country - but we have no nice way to show in in the umbraco UI :)

But glad you found a solution.

    Kind regards
    Anders

    Hi Dan

It would mean a great think to us if you could mark the right answer as a solution - so others easily can find the solution in the future.

    Kind regards
    Anders

Sorry Anders, I'm usually pretty good at that but seem to have missed it on this occasion.

I can't wait to show you what we're using Tea Commerce for - it should really highlight the flexibility of your product.  I'll be sure to forward a demo to you as soon as I can.

so, it looks like you actually can delete the default country... but then you only get 0.00 prices and the currency sign is the pound... any way i can get back?

Are you sure its deleted? I think we have a check for not deleting the default things. But umbraco will show that it deleted it - but if you refresh the Tea Commerce tree you should see it again.

    Kind regards
    Anders
