    UPS Shipping Calculator

Has anyone built anything with dynamic shipping calculation with UPS?  I'm looking for some info on where to start.  ANY help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Hutch,

We have had no feedback from Tea Commerce customers using UPS dynamic shipping calculation. You could also try writing your question in one of the larger Umbraco forums to reach out to more people.

My guess is that the Tea Commerce part will be the easy part. Using the UPS system will be harder. I hear that it's ancient and difficult to work with.

    Hi Hutch,

Did you do the UPS integration?  I have a project which is may require this so I'm interested to hear how it went.

    Thanks

Unfortunately no, but will be doing this on a future project that we are working to close now.  If I get anything, I'll be sure to send you some details (hopefully if you beat me to it you can do the same :) ).

    Hi Dan and Hutch

In Tea Commerce 2.0 (which is released soon) the shipping calculation has been pretty simple to extend and custom calculate. You inherit from our shipping calculator and then overrides two methods. This is where you do your custom calc. I have no idea how easy the integration to UPS is - but the integration with Tea Commerce is pretty simple.

    Kind regards
    Anders

Thanks Anders.  Do you think this will be difficult in TeaCommerce v1 then?  Trouble is, I only have three weeks to launch the site, so holding back for TeaCommerce v2 isn't really an option (although I'd love to - it sounds fantastic :)).

I can send you an RC of 2.0 - it should be pretty stable and you can see the alpha starter kit for Tea Commerce 2.0 how things are done in the new version. Would that be an option? If so - write us an email at info (at) teacommerce.net

    Kind regards
    Anders
