Shipping adds tax to total; Set to have 0% tax

I'm having a problem with shipping calcuation.  We have it set to be a flat $20.  I have the tax on this set for the country to be 0%.  The tax for products is set to 8.875%.  For some reason, it continues to add tax to the shipping, even though I have set it to be 0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  This is an urgent matter for our client. (as they all are right, :) )

    Hi Hutch,

You may have wandered into a bug as i can actually recreate the problem here. The tax on the shipping method is ignored, which is not right.

Until we can fix the problem you will need to find a workaround. If it's not checked could you maybe try to not set the tax on the shipping method and instead write the price without tax? See if that gives you the correct price.

We will have a bug fix release as soon as possible. But I can't promise it before the start of next week!

I tried setting the Shipping Tax selection to "---", but still the issue persists.  The problem is the total order price still includes tax calculated for the shipping.  I forced shipping to display without, but the order total is the issue.  I can't charge customers with it like this.  Hope you can fix soon.  :)

Yes, I know the price is still calculated. What you will need to do is enter the shipping fee without tax. Then when Tea Commerce adds the tax, the right fee will be presented.

But I still promise to fix the bug as soon as humanly possible!!

Do you mean I would need to override the method to add shipping?  Or subtract the tax calculated from shipping and use that value on the shipping cost?  IE: $20 shipping, shipping tax being calculated is $1.78, so set shipping to $20 - 1.78 = $18.22?

No, just in the Tea Commerce section, just write the shipping fee minus the general tax. Then Tea Commerce adds the tax, and your good to go.

    Hi Hutch

Could you provide us with a login and passwrod to your solution as I think that some of the setup of VAT groups isnt correct as there is no bug in the VAT system in TC. You can send it to [email protected]

    Kind regards
    Anders
