    Tea Commerce and medium trust

    Hi,

I know the package release page clearly says 'Full trust' but I just wanted to check that Tea Commerce definitely will NOT run in a medium trust environment?

I'm finding it impossible to find a good UK-based shared hosting provider for smaller client sites, that I can rely on, who will run IIS in full trust.  It's potentially an issue for a forthcoming e-commerce project.

    Thanks

    Hi Dan

Im don't know if Tea Commerce will actually work in medium trust - because I don't know the exact difference between full and medium trust. Maybe it just works or maybe it is an easy fix to get it working. Would you like to help us find out what needs to change aor if it just works?

    Kind regards
    Anders

    Thanks Anders,

If this project is approved (very likely) I'd be happy to test this out and feed back to you guys.  Perhaps it will 'just work' - I don't know enough about trust levels to know why it wouldn't, either.

I'll update here if/when this goes further.

    Thanks.

    Hey John,

Thanks for the nudge. Unfortunately(?) the client went for a VPS running full trust so never got chance to check it out on medium.

One thing I would say, and I'm no expert whatsoever on this front, is that I believe 'medium trust' is something that's very often set on a custom basis per hosting company. For example, I've had issues whereby the Desktop Media Uploader doesn't work on one medium trust host provider I've used before, whilst I've never heard the same thing from others so it may be particular to that implementation of medium trust.

I suppose my point is that there may be things in Umbraco core that don't work in medium trust, so you may have more to worry about than TeaCommerce on this front.

Sorry I can't be more helpful on the actual question! :)
