I have a problem with product categories. my clients needs a little bit hard. I use the teacommerce starter kit and umbraco 4.9,
i have 7-8 different categories, they are all in the same level at the category tree. some of the products belongs to multiple categories. i need to select multiple categories with checkbox or with several dropdowns and when i select the categories, page should filter the products in the intersection of the selected categories.
As what you are trying to do is pure Umbraco stuff, there's a lot of ways to do it. You can make it simple or advanced.
One way could be to add a multinode tree picker to all your products and let the admin choose the categories. Now you can list the products in a category by selecting all products that belong to that category.
You might not want to place your products under a category in the products tree, but somewhere else. In that case you could use url rewrite to get nice urls for your products as if they where positioned under the categories.
