Upgrading from version 1.4.0.0 to 1.4.42

    Hello all,

I would like to upgrade my version of Tea Commerce to a later version, I believe I can't upgrade to version 2 from 1, so I would like to upgrade to version 1.4.4.2.

What be the best way of doing this and will this effect my current licence?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Regards

    David

    Hi David

Your current license will work with both 1.x and 2.x so no problem there.

When you update you just download the package you need to upgrade to and then install as normal. Tea Commerce merge and only overwrite non critical files. Remember to always look at the revision history for breaking changes. In 1.4.4.1 we removed the /tcbase and now uses the /base in Umbraco so you have to fix all you forms to post to /base instead of /tcbase.

    Kind regards

    Anders,

Thanks, I'll be looking at this soon, I'll let you know how i get on.

If i wanted to update to version 2, would l need to create a new version of the site or is it possible to update from version 1?

    Thanks

    regards

    David

We havent created a DB upgrade script from 1.x to 2.x so you cant upgrade. But you can make the upgrade script your self if you want to. When the DB is updated you will need to convert your website and all the xlst extensions/.NET methods has properly changed so you should go through your entire site. So the way to do it is properly to create a new site and then copy the things you need from the old installation.

    Kind regards
