Looking at the Breaking Changes described in the Umbraco changelog, I personally wouldn't be too worried about upgrading from 8.16 to 8.17, nor would I be worried about Vendr during this upgrade, in your specific scenario. I would however always recommend making back-ups of both your database(s) and source-code (if not in version control) just to be safe!
EDIT: To add to this, there is one recurring 'issue' I see getting reported after upgrading to Umbraco 8.17, and that is about the Umbraco files that involve the new Tabs feature not being installed 100% complete into the /umbraco folder after an upgrade. The easy fix for this would be to remove this folder before installation/upgrading!
I'm using Vendr with v8.16.0, should I update to Umbraco v8.17.0?
Hi guys,
I'm using Vendr with Umbraco 8.16.0 and it works well atm.
I'm interested in Umbraco v8.17.0 but it has a breaking change as described here: https://our.umbraco.com/download/releases/8170
should I have a try?
Thanks for your advice.
Cheers, Nick
