    Member type icon

    Hi all.

I've tried to change the icon for a member type I've created to easier distinguishes them from

    one another.

But it does not seem to kick in as they all appear with the same blue man icon in the member tree view.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Kristian

Which path have you uploaded the icon to?

Hmm, bit puzzled at what you're doing... you created a new member type (assuming that's a member type under the 'member section'?), but don't want the default icon? Even if it were possible to change it (I'm pretty sure you can), doesn't that change the icon for each member type? Explain cause I'm not sure we're talking the same thing...

    Cheers,

    /Dirk

    Hey all.

I actualy just tried this "for fun" to see if I could replicate the issue, and I could. If I understand this the right way, you want to give each member a custom icon depending on which member type they are, right?

What I did was to create "Member type 1" with icon1 and "Member type 2" with icon2. Then I created two members, one that had Member type 1 as the type and another who had Member type 2 as the type. But both of the members in my "Members-folder" had that default blue man as an icon.

What I'm triyng to do here, is just to make sure that everyone (including me :) ) understands this issue correct, and that I can recreate it. So I'm very interested in the solution as well :)

Ah Kim, if that's what he's trying to do.... nope, afaik, the icon is hardcoded for each member, regardless of its type

    Cheers,

Kim was right in that is the thing I try to achieve.

I had a suspicion that it was hard coded so I'll leave it for now

    Hi Kristian

Are you going to make a feature request on codeplex for this? Otherwise I will. I think it makes sense that one is able to change the icons in the the member section as well.

    Did not think of that.

There now is a workitem on codeplex: http://umbraco.codeplex.com/workitem/29853
