Umbraco 4.11 User Permissions not saving

In Umbraco 4.11.9 (Assembly version: 1.0.4898.17344), if I set checkboxes for a given user under the "Select pages to modify their permissions" area of the User permissions area, The changes save as expected, however the permissions restrictions do not take effect for that user. Also, once logged back in as admin, the previously saved checkbox states do not reload and appear as they have never been set.

Can anyone point to any solutions? This is a production site and upgrading is not a viable solution at this point.

    Thanks,

    Jamie

    Hi Jamie,

Ismail Mayat, have experienced the same issue with an Umbraco 4.5.2 installation. He solved it by setting the user permissions on the nodes directly in the content tree.

I hope this could be a solution for you too, since upgrading is not a viable solution.

Thanks for your clues. OK - it is in fact functioning however, perhaps a user interface issue - if you select a user from the manage permissions interface, select a node, a green check-box appears. If you for example, then un-check browse node and save, the function executes correctly. HOWEVER, upon returning to the user in the interface, nodes with modified permissions should probably display an icon (greyed out check-box for example) that defaults have been changed on this node. Currently, they return empty, indicating to the user that everything has been reset to defaults or nothing has been saved (even though a click on the node will in fact reveal that permissions have been modified)

Glad this is actually working and is more of a useability issue.

    Cheers,

    Jamie
